Abstract
The article presents a study that investigates the effect of high power ultrasound on the structure and properties of synthetic isoprene rubber gum. The gathered data indicates that ultrasound treatment creates low molecular weight tails, which significantly broaden the molecular weight distribution. The study also explores new way of controlling the structure and properties of elastomers and improving their processability through high power ultrasonic treatment.
