Description

Technical Services workers’ jobs are invisible: vital to the library’s work yet not known or often lauded outside of Technical Services. From the perspective of someone who has 33 years of experience in a technical services position within an academic library, this presentation will provide ideas for dealing with sometimes-tedious technical services work. Some intrinsic motivational themes will be explored as well as some ideas to shake up one’s life a bit. The program will conclude with looking at the bigger picture of what libraries do and how technical services plays a vital role in that endeavor.
