Biography

Cindy Christman (b. 1953) is a retired Akron Police Department lieutenant, founder of multiple LGBTQ+ friendly venues (Quest, Mercedes Tavern), and past chair of the Akron Community Foundation's Gay Community Endowment Fund. Christman was instrumental in bringing the 2014 Gay Games to Akron. In 2019, she coordinated a display of the AIDS Memorial Quilt at the Summit County Courthouse.
