Abstract
In their recent paper, Feingold and Gupta have developed a useful technique to calculate the radiation shape factors from spheres and long cylinders without involving multiple integrals. This technique will now be extended to determine the shape factors from planar point sources to a certain class of surfaces. In the previous reference, the configuration factors are derived regardless of the validity of Lambert's cosine law, whereas in this work Lambert's law is the basic assumption of the analysis. Analytical and graphical representations of shape factor for certain elementary configurations, some heretofore unavailable, are obtained.
