The students in the Honors College at The University of Akron come from a variety of backgrounds and show a broad area of academic interests and achievements. UA’s Honors College fosters a sense of community and supports an enriched education for these self-challenged, high-achieving learners

An Honors College student will complete a major in one of the bachelor’s degree-granting colleges, just like any other UA student. But they also receive the added benefit of selecting a set of Honors Distribution courses in place of UA’s General Education Program, participating in Colloquia seminars and completing an Honors Research Project.
