Call for Proposals: Where the Rubber Meets the Road

Proving grounds answer the question: does this really work? As educators, we ask this question at the start of each semester; when we try new assignments or methods of delivery; when we require students to test their knowledge in “real-world” contexts. Students ask it when they walk into class on the first day; when they write and revise and rethink; when they leave the classroom and take on new challenges, eager to see if they are different in the world now. Instructors and students together encounter multiple proving ground moments: moments when the rubber meets the road, often with unexpected and unintended results. This conference will focus on those critical moments and the lessons learned from them.
