Abstract
The engineering design process is used to create a frictionless system for planetary simulant testing. Research about different types of bearing is used to brainstorm ideas about how to construct a tray and rail system with minimal friction. Using thought-walkthroughs and a weighted decision matrix, it will be determined which ideas can move forward with a tabletop experiment. Based on the results of the experiment, it will be determined which system will be fabricated and installed for the testing system.
