Dean: Robert J. (R.J.) Nemer

Established as a professional college of The University of Akron in 1953, the College of Business Administration (CBA) prepares students to become competent and responsible business professionals and leaders. Everything we do supports this goal.

Twelve undergraduate majors and flexible graduate programs are designed with input from corporate professionals, so our degrees are relevant for the businesses of today and tomorrow. Our expert faculty are focused on classroom instruction. Individualized support for students on their business-school journeys help them succeed. And they do succeed.

Much of our work and learning takes place in an 81,000-square-foot building that includes fully equipped, high-tech classrooms and computer labs that house approximately 250 computers. We also have state-of-the-art finance, direct marketing, and applied marketing research labs.

Our work also takes place in the community. We offer programs open to the public that have nationally recognized speakers on current, crucial topics. We work with hundreds of businesses through Advisory Boards and other avenues so students can have classroom projects on real-world challenges. These professional relationships also provide numerous meaningful internship and co-operative education opportunities that allow students to be paid and/or earn college credit as they begin to build their careers.

National ranking and accreditation organizations regularly recognize the results of our dedication to providing excellent education and support services that help make our students successful.
